New Metal Gear Solid V trailer causing an uproar

The trailer features Big Boss on his quest for revenge against the attack on Mother Base while traveling to a verity conflicts. Among the key characters featured are Kazuhira Miller, Revolver Ocelot, Quiet and Skull Face.

Unfortunately the trailer has been heavily panned by fans of the series for lacking Hideo Kojima’s style while making the game appear like a generic shooter. Gamers have voiced their frustration on social media along with news sites like N4G.

Several fans have even interpreted the title cards featured as a personal message from Konami to the fans that this will be the last Metal Gear Solid game. Konami could be trying to apologize to it audience for what has happened in the last few months without having to make an official statement.

The release of the trailer comes several days after Nivida public showed its support for Kojima followed by a report from Nikkei about the toxic work culture at Konami. All this has been taking place during an ongoing dispute between Konami and Kojima.

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is the tenth game in the series and is set to be released on September 1 for all major consoles along with the PC. Set after the events of Ground Zeroes, Big Boss awakes from a coma and establishes a new mercenary army while seeking revenge against XOF.
