Emmy award-winning actor and producer Eric Nelsen (“1883”) opened up about his future projects.
On January 15, he was profiled on “Live On Air With Steven Cuoco,” which is a weekday syndicated satellite radio program produced and hosted by Steven Cuoco. He is a veteran expert in public relations, reality TV, media, broadcasting, and podcasting. The radio program is heard in 200 countries.
Nelsen is an Emmy and Tony award-winning American actor and producer. He is known for his role as Ennis in the Yellowstone prequel “1883.” On stage, Nelsen portrayed Brett Sampson in the original Broadway production of “13,” and he starred in “The Good Mother.”
He has appeared in over 30 television series, including Hulu’s revival of “All My Children” playing AJ Chandler, a recurring role in “The Affair” on Showtime, “The Blacklist,” “Girls,” “The Following,” “NCIS,” “Blue Bloods,” and “iCarly.”
Nelsen also appeared in the Universal Pictures film “A Walk Among the Tombstones” opposite Liam Neeson and in “Coming Through the Rye” opposite Academy Award winner Chris Cooper.
In 2018, Nelsen most recently won a Daytime Emmy Award for “Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Digital Daytime Drama Series” for his work in the digital drama series “The Bay.”
He will be a part of “The Will Rogers Story,” which is the true story of William Penn Adair Rogers. He will also star in “Holly by Nightfall,” which was directed Andy Delaney, where he will play the role of Johnny.
As a producer, Nelsen has won four Daytime Emmy Awards for “The Bay” and a Tony Award for the Broadway play “The Inheritance.” He also produced the indie feature “Wakefield” starring Bryan Cranston and Jennifer Garner.
At age 23, Nelsen became the youngest producer in history to win an Emmy award.
“I am at the mercy of the networks, studios and other people to hire me,” he said about his profession. “I am always relying on somebody else, as an actor, except when I am producing. There is always the feeling of ‘what’s next?’ Hopefully, you have a great manager on your team that helps you make those decisions that sheds light on our next steps.”
“Even with a team of people on your side, there is still always the thought of ‘Oh God, what if?’ You try to push those thoughts down but you are at the mercy of somebody else trying to give you a job. As an actor, you are not in charge of your destiny at all,” he said.

In August of 2022, Nelsen was spotlighted on “The Donna Drake Show” on CBS New York.
