Review: Philip Bruenn charms in new episodes of ‘Studio City’ (Includes first-hand account)

The show was created by Sean Kanan and Jason Antognoli, and it was directed by Emmy nominee Timothy Woodward Jr.

Bruenn is tackling the roles of Nick Cassidy in Studio City, and the fictional character Dr. Devyn Stryker in Hearts on Fire, since the show deals with a drama within a drama.

He plays the rival of Dr. Pierce Hartley/Sam Stevens (Sean Kanan), and Bruenn’s character is able to provide comic relief for the show (with his humorous lines), and eye candy for its female audience. There is a nonchalant vibe to his character.

Bruenn’s opening scene in the “Walk Away” episode opposite Anastasia (Erin Michele Soto) is witty and steamy, while his scene opposite executive producer Gloria (Carolyn Hennesy) is quite hysterical.

Earlier this year, Bruenn was praised by Digital Journal as the “best-kept secret” of Studio City, and rightfully so.

The five new episodes of Season 1 of Studio City are available for streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
