Fran Drescher (‘The Nanny’) talks Cancer Schmancer Cabaret Cruise (Includes interview)

“I’m very excited,” she said, about the 2017 Cabaret Cruise for Cancer Schmancer. “This is one of our big fundraisers of the year. Everybody that supports this event helps us to exist from year to year. It’s a fun cruise, but I remind everybody why they are here, and what we are about, and thank them. Of course, the food is organic. The Hornblower is a wonderful company that underwrites the event, and is very supportive of Cancer Schmancer, and we are very grateful to them.”

On her plans for the future, the Emmy-nominated actress said, “I’m writing a couple of things right now, so that’s exciting. I just recorded Hotel Transylvania 3, and I’m writing a Broadway musical, and I’m writing a couple of television ideas for me to star in.”

Each day, Drescher is motivated by grace and gratitude for life. “I am grateful to be alive, and to be a survivor. I’m grateful to be here on this beautiful Earth. I feel I got famous and I got cancer, and I lived to talk about it, so I have a very purposeful life. That gets me going each and every day,” she said.

The Nanny actress and executive producer concluded, “Everybody should detox their homes, and eat organic and support family sustainable farms. They should move away from industrial farming and industrial strength cleaning products. We need to start realizing that people and the planet are one interconnected living organism. If we are thoughtless to any part of the planet, then we hurt ourselves.”

Last month, on May 3, Fran Drescher received the Queens College Lifetime Achievement Award from Queens College, at its annual GALA that was held at Gustavino’s in New York City.
