Known for such hits as “Teenage Dream” and “Roar,” the 31-year-old pop singer expressed her thanks with her own tweet, “Dang this is tight,” followed with a smiley face wearing sunglasses.
Perry is well known for treating her fans with the utmost respect and in the past has held special engagements just to give thanks for her stardom. She now sits on top the social media world with Justin Bieber second and Taylor Swift third on the list of the most followed celebrities in the world.

Katy told Cosmopolitan.com that she now takes a break each day from social media, believing the platforms can create a narcissistic feeling and make life feel a bit unreal with the constant attention. She also expressed an interest in having a day where nobody used phones or modern technology, just to relax and take a break from the hectic pace the Internet has created over the last couple of decades.
With 7 million more followers than Bieber, it’s great to see someone that has influence over today’s youth, hold onto what has made her great, but also reach the masses with her positive energy and ability to be a role model for males and females in any age group and possibly the first to hit the coveted 100 million followers on Twitter.
