Country singer-songwriter Elizabeth Lyons charms on her new single, the refreshing “Settle Down Chicago.” Digital Journal has the scoop.
The song is semi-autobiographical, warm, and honest, but at the same time, it is infectious and fun. Lyons is not afraid to be raw and vulnerable on this tune.
“‘Settle Down Chicago’ feels so cinematic to me it grows in production slightly from Temporary,” she said. “It was important that the song invoked some sort of hope as the lyrics are pretty dark. The beat is the heartbeat of the song and is so cool how Jonny incorporated the piano lick, pads, and banjo noises.”
“It’s a vulnerable song that has been most people’s favorite song I think because it is so vulnerable. We’ve all lost ourselves and hit rock bottom and sometimes it takes someone telling us to get us out of the funk,” Lyons elaborated.
The song is about someone who wants love so much that they’ve lost themselves and it takes a former lover that told her she needs to “settle down” and focus on herself.
