Elevator Boys chatted about their new music, which includes their single “Runaway.”

The pop group, which is based in Berlin, is comprised of Bene SchulzJacob RottJulien BrownLuis Freitag, and Tim Schaecker. They co-wrote the song along with Nathanaele Koll.

‘Runaway’

On their new single, “Runaway,” they said, “We were in the process of making music about a year ago. We had a lot of sessions but we didn’t feel like we had the song that we wanted to release. Over time, we felt like we were getting closer, and in one magical studio session, we came up with ‘Runaway’ and we felt very connected to the song.”

“It is about the feeling of being overwhelmed sometimes, to the point where you run away from everything and just get away from everything and you go offline. It is about enjoying the moment. When we made the song, we felt a very strong connection to the lyrics and the song itself,” they added.

They noted that their band name (Elevator Boys) came in a random fashion, as opposed to organic branding. “Randomly videos in elevators blew up so people started calling up ‘Elevator Boys.’ At first, it was ironic branding but we adapted the name,” they said.

Future plans

Regarding their future plans, they shared, “We have a lot of plans, especially with our music. ‘Runaway’ is our first single, and certainly not our last one. We are currently working on new music.”

“We have 20 presentable songs so far, and we are on the lookout for what our next single is going to be. We have amazing new connections in the music world.”

The digital age

On being a band in the digital age, they said, “It gives us more chances, we can try things out like a trial and error. It can be frustrating when things don’t work out. It allows the whole community to see the journey and feel the journey.”

Advice for young and aspiring bands

“Honestly, what we struggled most with and what everyone struggles at first with, and that is finding your sound. Try to find your sound and what is interesting to you. If you really enjoy making music, then do it. Try to find songs that you would enjoy singing for the rest of your life.”

Dream duet choices in music

They listed Jaden Smith, Fred Again, Timbaland, and Camila Cabello as their dream collaboration choices in music. “All of these artists are really inspiring,” they concurred. “They spread good vibes.”

Superpowers of choice

The band members listed such abilities as their superpowers of choice: invisibility, flying, and time travel.

Stage of their lives

On the title of the current chapter of their lives, they revealed, “Becoming a Boy Band.” “It’s our boy band chapter,” they admitted.

Success

They defined the word success as “happiness” in life. “We are all successful, simply being together and having a lot of fun together,” they said. “Also, success is finding your passion.”

Fans

For their fans, they concluded about their new single, “Our song ‘Runaway’ encourages people to take some time off, don’t be so involved in everything, take your time, everyone has their ups and downs. Have fun and enjoy yourself.”
