Two-time Emmy award-winning actress Eileen Davidson chatted about her return on “Days of Our Lives,” where she played the role of Thomas Banks.
‘Days of Our Lives’
“It was fun playing Thomas Banks,” she admitted about her recent return to the Peacock show. “Thomas is always hilarious, and it is very hard to keep a straight face. The character is completely not like anything else… ever. Everybody enjoys it. Billy Flynn was so fun, and we had a really good time working together,” she said.
“Albert Alarr, the producer is very hands-on in directing, and they give me the freedom to do whatever I want. Ron Carlivati is hilarious, and everybody just gets in on the joke,” she added.
Davidson shared that she also enjoyed doing the “Beyond Salem,” “Beyond Salem: Chapter 2,” and “A Very Salem Christmas” limited series, all of which are available for streaming on Peacock. “Even though that was a while ago, those were fun, and it was great to go back and see everybody,” she admitted. “It is fun to revisit these characters because I originated them on the show.”
When asked if she has a preference playing Kristen DiMera or any of the Banks siblings on “Days of Our Lives,” she responded, “Not really. They are all so very different. It is always fun for me, no matter who I go back to play. I have a strong connection with all these characters.”
Favorite motto to live by
On her favorite motto to live by, she noted that she shared the following Ralph Waldo Emerson quote: “This new day is too dear, with its hopes and invitations, to waste a moment on the yesterdays.” “It’s really about living in the moment,” she explained.
Regarding the title of the current chapter of her life, Davidson said, “Just having fun and enjoying every day.”
‘The Young and The Restless’
In addition, she just celebrated her 41st anniversary on “The Young and The Restless,” where she plays Ashley Abbott. “That felt good. We are still plugging away and I am enjoying working with Trevor St. John, Peter Bergman, and Susan Walters. It is a terrific group of people, and the storyline right now is really fun,” she said.
Davidson also praised James Hyde, who played the role of the villainous Jeremy Stark. “James Hyde is terrific. I am a big fan,” she exclaimed.
“The Young and The Restless” itself just celebrated its 50th anniversary on air on CBS last month.
For her dedicated daytime fans, Davidson expressed, “Thanks for continuing to watch me, and I certainly hope they are with me and my shows for a long, long time.”
