Actor, model, and social influencer Edward Bayer spoke about his upcoming stage show “Cristi’s Case Crackers” on August 29th and 30th in Astoria, New York.
This play will be performed at the Thespis Theatre at the HCC NYC (Hellenic Cultural Center).
Bayer on ‘Cristi’s Case Crackers’
Aside from Bayer, the lineup features Nicole Bilderback, Kacey Bair, Kayshaun Cage, Brian Sterling Chan, Selina Cheung, Jennifer Cristancho, Charmaine Elizabeth, Philip Espinell, Jazmin-jean Fuertes, Katherine Lunam, John Ricotta, and Aaliyah Rivera.
On this forthcoming show, Bayer remarked, “This is for ‘Cristi’s Case Crackers.’ It was written as a murder mystery spinoff based on the movies ‘Bring It On’ and ‘Clueless’ for their 25th and 30th anniversaries with Nicole Bilderback headlining!”
Bayer on his inspiration to take on this role
Bayer was inspired to take on this role because he was “really excited” for the opportunity to “get to act on stage.”
“Theatre is the foundation of so many successful actors that have come before me, and taking an opportunity to get to act on stage with this amazing cast is an opportunity that I couldn’t pass up,” he acknowledged.

Bayer opens up about his character
On playing his character, he revealed, “I love that my character is a bit of an ass (excuse me, but it’s the best way to describe him).”
“It’s fun getting to play someone that is so different to how I try and carry myself in real life,” he admitted.
Bayer on his love for theatre
Bayer is drawn to live theatre for many reasons. “I think the biggest draw to it are the high stakes and the connection you can develop with the audience,” he said.
“When you’re on stage, there is no second take. You either bring it on or the audience will think you’re clueless,” he explained.
Bayer on working with the creative team of the show
On working with the creative team of this show, he expressed, “It was an absolute blessing.”
“Getting to work with Andrew (the show’s writer) every day is so great because it’s fun getting to know the man behind such a funny script,” he said.
“Rehearsals are tough for me because I find myself cracking up every time one of my co-stars says their lines,” he noted.
Lessons learned from this play
On the lessons learned from this play, Bayer revealed, “It really reaffirmed to me that I can do something challenging like this.”
“Learning an entire play’s script is much different than learning your scenes for the day like you might for a TV show or movie,” he acknowledged.
“I’m glad I was given the opportunity to take this challenge on. I can feel myself growing as an actor every time we rehearse,” he added.
Advice for young and emerging thespians
For young and aspiring thespians, he encouraged them to “do it!”
“Take the classes, read the plays, and just put yourself out there,” Bayer said. “There is always more to learn and there is always something you’ll discover about yourself when learning about a new character.”
“I would highly recommend joining theatre productions,” he added.

Closing thoughts on ‘Cristi’s Case Crackers’
For fans and viewers, Bayer remarked, “I want them to know how funny the writing is and how effectively the cast delivers on it.”
“I really can’t stress enough how talented the whole cast is,” he underscored. “I mean I almost wish I wasn’t in it just so I can watch the play from the audience myself!
“No spoilers, but if you’re a fan of ‘Bring It On’ or ‘Clueless,’ there are definitely some gems littered throughout the play. You’ll even feel like you’re apart of these worlds,” he concluded.
