Eddie and The Getaway chatted about his new single “Broken Man” and being a part of the digital age.

How did “Broken Man” come about?

“Broken Man” is a song about the struggle of a heartbreak, doubting yourself and finally overcoming it when meeting someone new.

It is me recognizing that I might have been hurt in the past but I’m not letting it define my future relationships.

What inspires your music and songwriting?

My music is inspired by the life that I have lived – all the ups and downs that come with growing up and living life.

Everything I write is something that I have experienced firsthand.

Are you excited about your new EP next month… What can we expect?

I am absolutely stoked about my new Tumbleweeds & Nicotine EP. You can hear the different inspirations of Country and Rock music throughout the project.

Some of the songs fall more towards Country and others lean more Rock but it is the culmination of who I am as a person and as an artist.

I think there is something for everyone on there.

How does it feel to be an artist in the digital age?

I believe being an artist in this digital age is a lot more responsibility because fans want more access to you and your story and also need more content and songs consistently.

It is a blessing to be able to make music for my fans and I love that I can get a response from them almost immediately, which has been a big reason for my success.

What is your advice for young and emerging artists?

I would say to just keep making music consistently. Don’t be as worried about songs not immediately blowing up, just put out music that is 100 percent authentic to you and if it feels too vulnerable that’s usually a good thing.

Which artists would you like to do a dream collab with and why?

I would love to collaborate with bands like Creed and Nickelback, as well as some of the newer artists like Gavin Adcock, Koe Wetzel and Treaty Oak Revival.

I connect the most with artists who are undeniably themselves and don’t care what people think, in the best way possible.

What does the word success mean to you?

Success to me is making the music I love and having people relate to my music on a super big scale.

I want to be playing stadiums one day but the journey to get there is the part that really inspires me every day.

What would you like to say to your fans about your new music? (What’s the one thing you want them to get out of it)

I want my fans to listen to these songs and feel like they are walking in my shoes or even feel like the songs are for them and about things they have gone through as well.

The reason I make music is for other people, not for myself. I want to make music that people can lean on when life is good and bad.
