Director Wes Craven dies at 76

Craven died in Los Angeles. The director was famous for his first feature movie, The Last House On The Left (1972), as well as for A Nightmare On Elm Street, and many other flicks.

The news of Craven’s death was confirmed by the director’s family.

The family released a statement and it informed people that brain cancer was the cause of death, and they expressed how sad they were. The statement also said that Craven was surrounded by love and his family was present at his family home.

Not only did Craven bring Nightmare On Elm Street to the big screen, but he brought Scream to audiences around the world. Scream ended up becoming a very popular franchise, and in 2005, Craven returned to the director’s chair and directed Red Eye. Other films Craven has worked on includes The Hills Have Eyes and Vampire In Brooklyn.

Craven most recently directed Scream 4, which was 11 years after Scream 3, released in 2000. Craven leaves behind his wife, a son, as well as his daughter.
