Deus Ex: Mankind Divided was set to be released in February 2016 for the PC and Next-Gen consoles, but has now been pushed back until August 2016. The reason for the delay is because the development studio needed more time to finish the game.
The games official Twitter page posted the following message, “Deus Ex: Mankind Divided is a huge project. We won’t compromise on quality.”
The game’s official blog went into more detail explaining the challenges they are facing in trying to create an ideal cyber-punk experience. Written by Eidos Montreal head David Anfossi, it stated, “We’re confident and proud of the game so far. However, as we are now playing through the game in full we can see that it will require more time in post-production for tuning, iterations and refinement to meet our high standards. In order to achieve this, we need to move the release of the game to 23 August 2016.”
Anfossi further added, “We are sorry to disappoint you with this news and we also thank you for all your support and comments. This game is a huge part of our lives and we don’t want to compromise on its quality.”
Deus Ex: Mankind Divided is the fourth game in the cyber-punk RPG series and a direct sequel to Human Revolution. Following the events of the previous game, Adam Jensen is now an agent of the newly established United Nations Anti-Terrorism Coalition (UNATCO) who must stop an augmented-rights terrorist group.
