This collection features previously recorded faith songs from such country legends as Johnny Cash and Hank Williams, as well as Amy Grant, Vince Gill, Brad Paisley and a new recording from Wade Hayes (“Just As I Am”). “I am so excited. This is the third installment, and the first two have done really well,” she said. “Cracker Barrel has been a big supporter and we really appreciate that. I love working on these collections. We will have another one out in the fall, which will consist of country artists with more contemporary recordings. The Hymns project was special because everybody loves classic hymns, and we picked out the ones that we wanted on there. That was just fun, and as a reporter, that was a break from my normal routine, and a real fun project to do,” she added.
Aside from Deborah Evans Price, the album’s co-executive producers include WILDFIRE7, Bob DeMoss, Todd Skrove and Dusty Wells. “I really enjoyed being executive producer because it is fun, and other people weighed in as well. It is great to think of the songs that I love and I want to hear again, and to suggest them for a collection. This is a different avenue for me, and I just loved it. I worked with some great people. They were wonderful,” she said.
Deborah Evans Price is a former recipient of the coveted Country Music Association (CMA) “Media Achievement Award.” “I was so shocked. I had done the red carpet that night for Billboard, and I was tired and I got back in the press room and all of a sudden they were calling my name, and I was shocked and so excited,” she said.
