David Corlew made honorary member of Airborne Infantry Regiment

Corlew was named an Honorary Member of the 187th Airborne Infantry Regiment, which is also known as the “Rakkasans.” He was praised for his dedication to the welfare of the U.S. veterans, especially at Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU). Corlew can now be called a “Rakkasan” for life.

Membership of Airborne Infantry Regiment is a major accomplishment for those chosen. It is bestowed upon individuals that have best demonstrated the qualities required of an honorary member of the regiment.

Corlew was moved beyond words for this distinct recognition. “It is an accolade I never expected in my lifetime,” he said, prior to noting that serving those who serve and have served has become a life mission for him. He plans to be a part of this process for as long as he has the strength to do so.

For over 30 years, Corlew has served as the artist manager of Country Music Hall of Famer Charlie Daniels. In 2014, both Daniels and Corlew founded The Journey Home Project, which is a nonprofit organization that secures funds to help causes that aid the U.S. veterans of the Armed Forces.

This past February, The Journey Home Project partnered with the Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU), and they opened the Daniels Center on its campus.

In addition, this past September Corlew was honored by the Tennessee Military Department with the “Distinguished Patriot Medal.”
