Darlene Love to release new album ‘Introducing Darlene Love’

Her forthcoming album was produced and arranged by artist and producer, Stevie Van Zandt, of the E Street Band. It is made up of all new recordings, as well as several classic songs. This will be released on Van Zandt’s label, Wicked Cool, in a partnership with Columbia Records.

Elvis Costello and Bruce Springsteen each have contributed two songs on this collection, with Van Zandt writing three songs. Several other songwriters that were involved on this project include Desmond Child, Linda Perry, Jim Webb and fellow Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Joan Jett.

The songs on the project include “Night Closing In,” “Still Too Soon To Know,” “Sweet Freedom,” “Who Under Heaven,” among others.

Love’s illustrious career in the music industry spans over five decades, and she was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2011 by Bette Midler. Love began her career as a member of The Blossoms, a local trio who provided background vocals for such esteemed artists as Sam Cooke and Bobbie Day.

She is best known for her classic holiday tune, “Christmas (Baby Please Come Home),” which she would perform on “Late Night With David Letterman” as an annual tradition.
