Emmy winner Darin Brooks chatted about “The Croods: Family Tree” Season 5 and “Amber Brown” on Apple TV+.
‘The Croods: Family Tree’
In the Dreamworks animated TV series “The Croods: Family Tree,” he voices the role of Guy. It’s a blast from the past when the Croods find a man frozen in a block of ice, they thaw him and discover he was an old flame of Gran’s. “I love that show,” he exclaimed.
“Mark Banker and Todd Grimes, the creators are so talented. The writing is so funny and we just have a blast,” he said. “We are still doing some finishing touches on some of the episodes.”
“The episodes are super funny, they always make me laugh, and we all have a good time,” Brooks said.
When Grug saves Hope’s life during a dangerous mountain-side artichoke harvest, rather than feeling grateful, Hope is desperate to save Grug’s life in return in order to not be indebted to him. And determined to show Hope that she’s just as good a cook, Ugga decides to cook a meal that will wow the farm residents.
When Ugga realizes she’s out of her element, she turns to an unlikely place for help: the punch monkeys. The new episodes are streaming on the streaming service Hulu.
“If people haven’t watched ‘The Croods’ already, it’s amazing. It is very funny, and it picks up where Season 4 left off,” he said. “I am super excited to see what happens at the rest of the season.”
‘Amber Brown’
On the success of the family TV series “Amber Brown” on Apple TV+, Brooks said, “That was so great, and hopefully, we will get a pick-up and more episodes in the future. The entire cast was so incredible.”
He had great words about the entire “Amber Brown” cast and he praised his co-star Michael Yo for his comedic prowess. “Michael Yo is so funny, his ‘I Never Thought‘ comedy special is spectacular, we would just roll over laughing. I love Michael, he is the best,,” Brooks said.
‘Samantha’s Friends’
Brooks also recalled doing the benefit fundraiser “Samantha’s Friends” back when he was on “Days of Our Lives.” This charity benefits the Southeastern Guide Dogs in Lakewood Ranch, Florida. “I had done that a couple of times,” he said. “The fact that they are doing it for over 27 years is amazing. We love dog charities. Rescue dogs know when they are being rescued.”
He also had kind words about world-renowned wrestler and TV personality Jessie Godderz (Mr. Pec-Tacular). “I love that guy, Jessie and I are Twitter buds, and we are always very supportive of each other’s projects. I have nothing but respect for Jessie,” Brooks said.
Presently, Brooks stars as Wyatt Spencer in the hit CBS daytime drama “The Bold and The Beautiful.”
