Regarding her 2016 International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA) nomination for “Female Vocalist of the Year,” she said, I feel very fortunate. There’s a lot of good young girl singers out there that are working hard. I was thrilled and honored. It’s the truth.”
Bradley has won this prestigious “Female Vocalist” category five times throughout her career, in 2007, 2008, 2009, 2011, and 2012 respectively.
She was also up for the IBMA award for “Emerging Artist,” along with her all-girl group Sister Sadie. “That was so precious because we wanted to do some material. We’re working to do what we can do. When they announced our name, we all kind of grinned. The girls were so excited,” Bradley said.
Earlier this year, Bradley earned her first Grammy nomination for “Best Bluegrass Album.” “That was something,” she exclaimed. “I woke up and drank some coffee and I got a few texts from people saying congratulations, and I asked them what for. It was from the label and they told me that I got nominated for a Grammy award. I cried, since it was really something to be in there. That meant a lot.”
In her Grammy-nominated album, Pocket Full of Keys, Bradley covered the Gin Blossoms classic “Til I Hear It From You,” and totally made it her own. “I love that song and I’m happy that i did it because it kind of caught on,” she said.
