Gayle will be playing on the Westermann Stage in the Concert Hall. This marks the iconic singer’s first Long Island concert appearance in well over one decade.
She is the youngest sister of country living legend Loretta Lynn, and Gayle has been a favorite of audiences of country and pop music since her career began in the 70’s. She was crowned “Top Female Vocalist” by the Academy of Country Music (ACM) twice in 1976 and 1977, and she was subsequently named “Female Vocalist of the Year” by the Country Music Association (CMA) in 1977 and 1978. Gayle has her own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and was officially inducted by her older sister Loretta Lynn as a member of the Grand Ole Opry on January 21, 2017.
Her signature song “Don’t It Make My Brown Eyes Blue” garnered the Grammy award for “Best Female Country Vocal Performance” in 1978. In addition, she is known for such hit singles as “You’ve Been Talking In Your Sleep,” “When I Dream,” “Half The Way” and “You and I,” her collaboration with the late Eddie Rabbitt.
