This donation was made on behalf of Moore’s family and crew. The country star paid a moving tribute, where he honored the heroes, victims and the survivors of the gun violence incident. This was part of the first-ever #MSDCountryStrong concert.
The families of the Parkland shooting victims stood on the stage, where Moore addressed the audience. He shared that he is a father of four, and that he picks up his kids from school each day.
“My first prayer is that they will come home safe that afternoon,” he said, prior to expressing how difficult the families of the victims have had it. Moore shared that he and his crew will be praying for their “continued healing.”
The “Small Town USA” singer-songwriter went on to express his gratitude to the servicemen and women, as well as the security guards, nurses, police offers and teachers for their service in helping others. He went on to sing his signature song, “If Heaven Wasn’t So Far Away.”
Moore acknowledged that he has done many charity events over the years, but this one, in particular, has touched him deeply.
