A Country Music Hall of Famer, Daniels presented Young with this special accolade at the sold-out award dinner, which was held at the Palm Restaurant in downtown Nashville. This event raised over $200,000, and the proceeds aid The Journey Home Project, as well as the United States Military Veterans.
Chris Young expressed his gratitude to the U.S. military and their families for the sacrifices that they make for America. “I am incredibly humbled to receive the ‘Patriot Award’ honor from Charlie and The Journey Home Project,” Young said, effusively.
At this event, Daniels and his manager, David Corlew, the co-founder of The Journey Home Project, honored military contributor and Nashville businessman William Horton with a second “Charlie Daniels Patriot Award.”
The criteria for this prestigious award are based on the mission of The Journey Home Project, where they help veterans in their return, their rehabilitation and helping to reintegrate them back in civilian life.
Young has been a major contributor and supporter of the United States military. He has performed for the U.S. troops in the Middle East, Japan, and South Korea.
