Chris Stapleton wins Grammy award for ‘Best Country Album’

His album Traveller bested albums by such artists as Little Big Town, Ashley Monroe, Kacey Musgraves and Sam Hunt.

Stapleton’s category was the only one in the country genre that was presented in the live Grammy telecast. His short but sweet acceptance speech may be seen below.

In addition to his win for “Best Country Album,” Stapleton’s title track song “Traveller” also claimed the Grammy award for “Best Country Solo Performance.” He was nominated for “Best Country Song” by lost to Little Big Town’s “Girl Crush.”

At the 2015 Country Music Association (CMA) awards, as Digital Journal reported, Stapleton won “New Artist of the Year,” “Album of the Year” and the prestigious “Male Vocalist of the Year.”
