Chinese rap phenomenon Lil Ghost chatted with Digital Journal’s Markos Papadatos about his new remix and what it was like working with platinum-selling artist Iann Dior. The remix and lyric video were released on April 9.

On the new remix “Prospect” being in English and Mandarin and how the collaboration came about, he said, “I was very happy when my work partner told me about this opportunity. I enjoy listening to foreign rap music very much in my daily life, and I have listened to Iann Ddor’s songs before. This remix has included strong Asian elements inside, and I am really looking forward to this cooperation.”

Regarding his inspirations and music style, he said, “I love Jay Chou very much. If I can collaborate with him once, I would definitely be too excited to sleep. In fact, there are many, many people worth learning from: people from all walks of life who have been focusing on their own fields, all of whom have made special efforts and made excellent music. I also hope to absorb and learn more from those excellent singers, so there is no fixed one person. I think my style will always be reflected in my next song, but each of mine wants to convey positive energy and love.”

He touched on what’s the best producing tip. “Record your inspiration at any time. Take notes with your mobile phone or on paper as well as observe life and experience life. In fact, entertainment and relaxation are also very important. Life will always provide you with creative materials,” he explained.

When keeping busy during the pandemic, he said, “Yes, I dance and I play video games. Since the work is very busy, my dance time has become less.”

Regarding his future plans, he said, “Keep producing music with my own style and let my music include other artists.”

The lyric video can be watched by clicking here. “I would love to say thank you to my fans for supporting me since day one and always bringing the best out of me. I hope to release more music with more global artists and to meet you guys when the pandemic is over,” he said.
