Tilly Evans-Krueger chatted with this journalist on the red carpet of the “Room to Move” documentary at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York.
She is known for being an Associate Choreographer, Dance Captain, and for playing Ace in “The Outsiders” musical on Broadway. In 2024, she won the coveted Chita Rivera Award for “Outstanding Dancer in a Broadway Musical.”
Most recently, she serves as the Movement Director of “John Proctor is the Villain” on Broadway.
2025 Tribeca Film Festival
On being a part of the 2025 Tribeca Film Festival as a special guest for “Room to Move,” she said, “It’s unreal. Also, one of my best friends, Jenn Freeman, is the star of the documentary. I’ve known Jenn for over 10 years, and she is one of my biggest inspirations, and like family to me. Being here, it’s truly unreal.”
Advice for young and emerging performers and choreographers
For young and aspiring choreographers and performers, she encouraged them “to keep believing in themselves, and keep believing in what you have to offer.” “Don’t let anyone take that away from you,” she underscored.
Stage of her life
On the title of the current chapter of her life, she revealed, “Expanding.”
“Also, stepping into power,” she admitted.
Superpower of choice
Her superpower of choice would be a “waterbender” because she loves water.
‘John Proctor is the Villain’
On being a part of the Tony-nominated show “John Proctor is the Villain,” directed by Danya Taymor, she said, “It’s incredible; everyone should go and see the show.”
“I love this show and thee cast. Working with this team is an absolute dream. I truly can’t believe I get to collaborate with these people,” she acknowledged.
Success
Regarding her definition of the word success, she remarked, “Success means being happy with where I am at, just being present, and whatever that present moment brings.”
