‘Yuki Spread the Love’ book
Sueling is the author and illustrator of the award-winning book “Yuki Spread the Love.”
On her inspiration to write the book “Yuki Spread the Love,” she said, “It was one of God’s gifts. I was looking for a book that was black and white because those are a few colors that babies identify with. I found a few books that inspired me to write my own.”
“I am a big fan of Yoshitomo Nara and Piero Fornasetti,” she said. “I love pop art and I think ‘Yuki’ is part of pop culture.”
“The book has a simple message… it’s about sharing with the people you love and ultimately throwing it back in the universe. The message is about love, which is what we need in the world today,” she elaborated.
“The book won the ‘Moonbeam Children’s Book Award’ for ‘Body, Mind and Self-esteem,” which earned a bronze medal,” she added.
Lessons learned from writing and illustrating this book
On the lessons learned from writing and illustrating this book, Sueling reflected, “It taught me that I can do anything that I put my mind to.”
“Also, the book has a lot of teachings that are from the University of Puerto Rico… one of them is the theory of choice and behavior by Dr, William Glasser, which states that the center of our activities are driven by genetics, needs, survival, belonging, freedom, and fun,” she explained.

Future plans
On her future plans, she said with a sweet laugh, “I finally feel like menopause is behind me… those years were very hard.”
“I cleaned house and got rid of the toxic people in my life,” she said. “So, the horizon is looking very promising to me.”
“I have great ideas and I am ready to focus on them and start creating,” she added.
Career-defining moments
In her career, she noted there have been many “aha” moments for Sueling. “At a young age, I was modeling in Puerto Rico, doing commercials, and advertisements. So, I felt in my heart that I could be an international model,” she said.
“I went to New York for the ITMSA competition, and that was the beginning of getting contracts from Japan, Spain, Italy, and Paris. I was so excited to embark on this fabulous journey,” she recalled.
“It was all about resilience… Never giving up, and believing in the power of manifesting,” she explained.
Balancing a family life with her other endeavors
On balancing a family life with all of her other endeavors, she stated, “I am definitely a multi-tasker… you have to be in this industry!”
“I chose to put my career aside so I could be the best mother and wife that I could possible be,” she added.
James Hyde
On being the wife of James Hyde, she said, “I am married to James, who is soulmate. He was the guy in my dreams, the one that I saw on a billboard in Madrid and I said that I was going to marry him before I met him.”
“We met in Madrid when I walked into a casting. He came up to me and was asking me questions,” she noted.
“I didn’t talk very much and we didn’t see each other for a year. Then, I walked into a casting meeting in Milano and I heard someone calling my name and it was James,” she elaborated.
“We went to dinner that night and have been together ever since… I still believe that our story is a true love story, and it should be told in a book or made into a movie,” she added.
Advice for hopefuls that wish to get their foot in the door in the contemporary entertainment scene
For hopefuls that wish to go into the entertainment business or photography professionally, she said, “They need to believe in themselves and know that they can do it.”
“Do not listen to the noise. Always remember to surround yourself with people that want you to do well. Run away from spiteful and jealous people,” she underscored.
“Everything has changed in the entertainment business… Social media has opened the doors for a lot of people. You don’t need to be in Los Angeles or New York anymore. Self-tapes and Instagram have completely opened the doors for so many people,” she explained.
