Michelle Williams (Destiny’s Child) chatted with this journalist on the red carpet of the 2025 Angel Ball GALA, which took place on Monday, October 27th at Cipriani Wall Street in Manhattan.

The 27th Annual Angel Ball in New York City, hosted by co-founders, songwriter Denise Rich and her daughters Daniella Rich Kilstock and Ilona Rich Schachter. The star-studded event took place at Cipriani Wall Street and raised $3 million for cancer research.

For over two decades, the Gabrielle’s Angel Foundation for Cancer Research has supported research that is transforming cancer treatment and care.

Emceed by CBS Mornings & Oprah Daily’s Gayle King, the event featured appearances by Michelle Williams, Chanel Iman, Bambi Northwood Blyth, Dr. Stephen D. Nimer, and Jackie Siegel who hosted the evening’s paddle raise.

“It feels beautiful to be here. I am really humbled to be here,” Williams said. “It is such an honor to be here.”

“We are talking about life and charities, and we are talking about so many people that are selfless. So many people are being honored tonight and I like being able to hear other people’s stories,” she elaborated.

Williams shared one of her favorite traits about Tina Knowles, who was one of this year’s honorees. “My favorite trait about Tina is that she is protective. She does not play when it comes to those she loves,” Williams said.

Presently, she is starring in the hit Broadway musical “Death Becomes Her,” where she plays the role of Viola Van Horn, and works alongside Jennifer Simard. “Jennifer is amazing! She is a genius and she’s a master at what she does,” Williams exclaimed.

On the difference between being a Broadway star vs. concert performer, Williams said, “To me, you are more vulnerable on a Broadway stage up there. To me, everybody sees everything. I think you have more liberty with concerts though.”

On the greatest lesson that theater has taught her, she revealed, “Discipline.” “I’ve got a show tomorrow, but I look forward to it,” she admitted. “It has been my dream to do Broadway.”

When asked if there will be a Destiny’s Child reunion, Williams responded, “I don’t have any Breaking News for you guys tonight; I just don’t have no news.”

Regarding her plans for the holidays, Williams said, “I will be on Broadway during the holidays because I’ve got shows.”

On her definition of success, Williams said, “It’s a different thing for different people but keeping peace of mind. If I can have piece of mind, then that’s success.”
