She shared the Jones Beach stage with The Doobie Brothers and veteran rock star Gregg Allman, and her performance was well-received by Digital Journal.
Johnston has been writing a great deal, by herself as well as with her friends and peers. “I am working on a new project,” she said.
She considers social media to be a great tool for artists, especially when it comes to interacting with fans. “It’s something I try to stay on top of,” she said.
While Johnston enjoys the “fun process” of recording in the studio, but nothing beats playing at a live concert setting. “I love performing live so much. It is literally the best thing I have ever done, and it’s my favorite thing in the world,” she said. “Recording in the studio is a totally different animal, but it is so rewarding.”
Aside from being a solo artist, she has toured extensively, serving as a background vocalists for such esteemed artists as Don Henley (of The Eagles) and Belinda Carlisle (of The Go-Go’s). She has also opened for Ann and Nancy Wilson from Heart, rock band Kiss and Country Music Hall of Famer Willie Nelson.

For aspiring singers, Johnston’s advice is simple. “Do what you love to do,” she said. “If music is your passion, and you give your heart and soul to it, you can’t go wrong. Constructive criticism is never a bad thing, especially if it is from people that you respect. At the core of it, you have to know who you are, and you have to stick with it.”
“Thank you so much for supporting me. I really appreciate it. I will have new music coming out soon. I hope to be able to perform for every single fan at some point,” she concluded.
