Actors, singers, and performers Kyle Selig and Jacob Dickey (“Stephen Sondheim’s Old Friends“) spoke about being a part of the 2025 Broadway Barks event.
“Broadway Barks” was held at Shubert Alley in New York City on Saturday, July 12th.
Their co-stars Bernadette Peters and Beth Leavel co-hosted this event.
‘Broadway Barks’
On being a part of Broadway Barks, Jacob said, “It feels amazing. It is nice to be back with my ‘Old Friends’ cast, but I love dogs so much, and this is such a cool collaboration between Broadway and adoptions.”
“This is my first time but I will be here every year,” Kyle exclaimed. “I love it!”
Significance of the cause
On the importance of this cause, Jacob said, “I adopted my dog and it was one of the best things of my life. So, it was cool to combine the two things that I love: theater and dogs.”
“I think it’s important to find homes for these beautiful and wonderful puppies,” Kyle added.
Kyle Selig on ‘Water for Elephants’
Kyle Selig also recalled his time on the Broadway musical “Water for Elephants.”
“It was such a good time,” Kyle admitted. “Great group and great songs. Isabelle McCalla was great, Paul Alexander Nolan was wonderful, and Wade McCollum was amazing for playing Wade (the character).”
Closing thoughts on ‘Broadway Barks’
For fans and spectators, Jacob said, “I would love for them to adopt puppies and little furry babies and take them home.”
“Also, I want them to have fun because it is such a fun event, and it is such a fun day,” Jacob concluded.
