“I love it,” Davis said, about performing at Stage 17. “We got a chance to come up here and visit, and once I saw the set-up of Stage 17, I was really looking forward to it.”
His breakthrough single, “Singles You Up” is climbing up the Billboard Hot Country charts. “It’s making progress,” he said. “I’ll take it. It’s getting to a point, where I’m running into people knowing the song. It’s really cool.”
On the digital transformation of technology in the contemporary music scene, he said, “I am excited about it. It’s a way that is bringing more fans to all kinds of genres. It is easier now for people to listen to great music. Growing up, I had an iPod, so it wasn’t much different than the way it is now. I love it. You move to Nashville and hear your song on the radio, but we’re streaming in some other new outlets. It’s a great way to get music out there.”
When asked how he uses technology on a daily basis, Davis said, “We released a single on Spotify and on Apple Music, and we’re staying on top of the socials. It’s a really cool way to connect with the fans, especially Instagram, where we really feel that we connect with most of our fans.”
At Stage 17, he shared the stage with fellow country star Kip Moore, in an event that was sponsored by Shiner Beer.
As he reflected over the past thee years, Davis noted that he was bartending. “I signed my first publishing deal and record deal at that time. I tried to write songs and find a way to do it full-time. It was a long three-year road. There were a lot of struggles and some really cool times,” he said. “I’ve also played some places that I never thought I would play before, including Stage 17.”
