Bulgarian artist Nurten Ünsev chatted with Digital Journal’s Markos Papadatos about her music, inspirations, and being an artist in the digital age.

Regarding her music and songwriting inspirations, she said, “I would like to express the multiplicity of experiences in life with all of its fluidity. That is my goal.”

On her future plans, she said, “Bringing the hybrid music trend to the mainstream culture.”

For young and aspiring singers, she said, “To let their senses, their feelings, and their fantasies, and their inspirations run wild. There is nothing refined in life, so focus on being tolerant and collaborative to have original ideas.”

She listed Celine Dion as her dream duet choice in the music business. “Celine has always been an inspiration to me,” she said.

On her definition of the word success, she said, “For me, it is equivalent to the word freedom. I would love for my career to give me a platform upon which I can express my ideas freely.”

For her fans, she said about her music, “I would like them to be open to the different things I bring to the table. Don’t be afraid of difference and revel in the power that comes with thinking out of the box.”
