Actor Ebin Antony chatted with Digital Journal’s Markos Papadatos about his latest acting projects and being an actor in the digital age.

‘Spoken’

Antony co-stars in horror thriller “Spoken” on Amazon Prime Video, which was directed by Tenill Ransom. He plays Tyler, a musician member of a summer camp student team that is competing to find the nesting ground of a demonic killer whose attacks are triggered by coarse language. “It’s great, it’s my first feature film and it’s on Amazon Prime now,” he said. “I am really excited and happy about it.”

‘Butterflies’

He also co-stars in director Kevin Van Stevenson’s “Butterflies,” a high school teen drama from award-winning author Tom Leveen, where he plays Azize, a Turkish immigrant who befriends a suicidal classmate. “I play Azize in it and the movie is almost done,” he said. “The film came out really good and I believe that everybody is going to like this film.”

‘With a Price’

Previously, Ebin starred in director Rolexis Delaney’s short horror film “With a Price,” where he played Tony, a man who inherits a ghost when he buys a house from his boss. “That was a short horror movie, where I play a supporting character named Tony. I inherit a house that is possessed by a ghost. It was a fun project to work on,” he said.

The digital age

On being an actor in the digital age, he said, “It’s the new normal, I believe. There are advantages watching a movie in the theater on the big screen. With streaming, you can actually watch more movies these days, and you are exposed to more projects these days than ever before.”

For young and aspiring actors, he said, “Acting is not a sprint race, it’s a marathon. Perseverance is key, have a positive attitude, and have fun. It’s not about making it big or making a lot of money, it’s about having fun. If you have fun while doing it, you will definitely make it.”

Regarding the title of the current chapter of his life, he said, “Living the Dream.” “The excitement is unfolding,” he admitted.

Antony defined the word success as “a journey that you continuously keep working towards.” “Success is a moving target,” he said.

For his fans, he concluded about “Spoken,” “It’s a beautiful film that was directed by Tenill Ransom. It’s a thriller and a short feature film, and definitely watch it. Please support us since at the end of the day, we are all entertainers, and we are here to entertain you guys.”
