Emmy award-winning actor Chandler Massey (“Days of Our Lives”) chatted about his new Hallmark film “The Professional Bridesmaid.” It will premiere on Saturday, April 8th on the Hallmark Channel.

‘The Professional Bridesmaid’

The synopsis is: When a professional bridesmaid Maggie Bailey (Emmy winner Hunter King) books a high-profile wedding, she must keep her true identity a secret, not only from the wedding party, but also from the handsome reporter, Henry (Chandler Massey) covering the event.

“Henry is a character that takes himself very seriously so I got to play into the comedy of somebody who takes themselves maybe a little too seriously,” he said.

Peter Benson directed from a screenplay by Carol Starr Schneider, Gregg Rossen and Brian Sawyer.

“This movie was fun,” he exclaimed. “It was a great time. It is coming up right around the corner, so I am very excited. Working with Hunter King was amazing, I love working with her.”

Massey shared that last year he enjoyed doing the film “A Tale of Two Christmases” for Hallmark. “That was fun too,” he said. “Honestly, Hallmark has yet to bring me on to a bad project. They are all great, I love the crew and the cast is always awesome.”

Engagement

In his personal life, Massey revealed that he is happily engaged to his fiancée  Stephanie. “I was very excited about it. Obviously, I was nervous, but happy that she said yes,” he said.

On the title of the current chapter of his life, Massey said, “The Domestic Life.” “I just bought a condo and I moved in with my fiancée,” he explained.

The digital age

On being an actor in the digital age, Massey said, “It feels nice. You can pull up your content whenever you want. There is just so much. I like watching TV, movies, and other actors. There are more options now and more good performances now than ever.”

Fan events

Massey shared that he enjoyed being a part of the Spectrum Celebrity fan events, which benefit the charity True Colors United. “Those fan events were great. They do a good job and it’s for a good cause. I love those guys,” he said.

Closing thoughts on ‘The Professional Bridesmaid’

Massey concluded about “The Professional Bridesmaid,” “It’s a very ‘springy’ movie. It will get everyone in the mood for rejuvenation, life, and love, and exciting events like weddings. If it just gets them pumped up for spring, and the rest of the year, that would be a success.”
