Chad Michael Murray stars as Ted Bundy in the new movie “Ted Bundy: American Boogeyman,” which was written and directed by Daniel Farrands. Digital Journal has the scoop.
Joining Murray in the cast are Emmy winner and horror icon Lin Shaye (as his mother Mrs. Bundy) and Holland Roden (Kathleen McChesney).
The movie will be released on August 16 on video-on-demand platforms, and on DVD on September 3. It deals with a determined detective, Kathleen McChesney, that tries to track down the infamous serial killer.
The synopsis of the film is as follows: a specter named Ted Bundy roams the highways of a gritty 1970s America. Hunting him are intrepid FBI agents Kathleen McChesney and Robert Ressler, organizers of the largest manhunt in history to apprehend America’s most infamous serial killer.
McChesney is a detective that is working out of the Seattle Police bureau, and Jake Hays plays Robert Ressler, an FBI profiler who would ultimately coin the term “serial killer.”
Without giving too much away, based on the trailer, it seems like a cat-and-mouse chase between the authorities and Bundy. It will display the complexity of tracking him down and bringing the notorious serial killer to justice.
