A Scotland-born musician, McDermott is the lead singer of the alternative rock band Lotus Crush, and he came in second place on the third season of the reality singing competition, The Voice.
Regarding his recent concert at Blackthorn 51 in Elmhurst, he said, “It was fantastic. New York’s New York. It was a good crowd. That place caught me by surprise. I didn’t expect much from it, because it looked like a hard rock club, but the sound system and the lights were beyond my expectations.
Their Rabbit Hole album has been quite a success. “It has been going well. We are out there playing these songs, like any other band. Every time, we bump into people and we make fans off of them. The feedback has been universally positive. That’s why we are anxious to keep going,” he said.

For his dedicated fans, he concluded, “A big thank you. We are coming to you again. The ball is rolling.”
