Catching up with Stephen Barker Liles: New single, new baby (Includes interview)

Love and Theft is now signed to Curb Records, which released their new single “Candyland.” “We are excited about this song. It is one of the most pop songs on the album, and the rest of the album has a more rock edge to it,” he said.

In his personal life, the country singer announced that he and his wife, Jenna Liles, are expecting their second baby, three years after the birth of their first child, Jett Barker Liles. On Christmas morning, Jett opened what could be described as the best Christmas gift ever, where the gender of their baby was revealed. “We are super stoked. We are having a little girl, so it’s such an exciting time,” Liles. “It will be fun to have one of each. I hope my wife says that we are done now, since now we will have a boy and a girl. We waited for the reveal like everybody else. Jett is going to be a really good older brother. June is the due date.”

Liles also took a moment to pay tribute to the late George Michael. “We’ve lost so many people this year, so many great artists that have influenced a lot of us younger artists and our sound. Eric and I love Wham!’s ‘Last Christmas,’ and Eric played it once three times at a row in a bar one night, so that’s like 20 minutes of Wham! playing ‘Last Christmas.’ It is a huge loss. Our condolences, prayers and thoughts go out to his family and him. It is tougher to lose somebody this time of the year,” he said.

Their radio single “Candyland” is available on iTunes.
