Emmy award-winning actor Jordi Vilasuso chatted about his upcoming “All My Children” virtual reunion, and the multiple charities that he works with to raise awareness for important causes.

He is known for his acting work in such daytime dramas as “The Young and The Restless,” “Guiding Light,” and “Days of Our Lives.”

‘All My Children’ fan reunion

This Zoom fan event will take place on May 7, and he will be joined by his former “All My Children” co-stars Alicia Minshew, Jacob Young, and Melissa Claire Egan. “I am so excited about it. This reunion should be fun,” Vilasuso said.

“We have great memories from that show, and I still keep in touch with all of those people,” he added.

‘Samantha’s Friends’

On May 20 and 21, Vilasuso will be a part of the Samantha’s Friends “Marvel Madness” benefit fundraiser in Lakewood Ranch, Florida, which benefits the Southeastern Guide Dogs and other charities. “I am always excited for ‘Samantha’s Friends.’ I can’t believe it is coming up in almost a month,” he said.

“I love what that nonprofit organization does and how it helps the Southeastern Guide Dogs, and my charity, Code Red, which I am grateful for. It is just a great event. I get to see many friends and go to Florida, and just have a good time,” he added.

Code Red Foundation

Vilasuso noted that the Code Red Foundation protects the youth of our country. “It is about keeping our kids safe in school, and my family and I are big advocates of that,” he said.

“We want to do what we can before more lives are lost,” he added.

Camp Dream

On June 24 and 25, he will be participating in the “Soaps in the South” fan event in Georgia, which will benefit the Camp Dream charity. “This provides a camp and scholarships to kids that are disabled. They do such a great job and it’s a very intimate setting. You feel very different, it is like a house party almost,” he said.

MB ‘State of Mind’ podcast on mental health

Vilasuso enjoyed doing Maurice Benard’s MB “State of Mind” podcast on mental health last summer. “I love it,” he exclaimed.

“I think what Maurice is doing is super important. He gives a voice on certain areas of mental health. I think his story is great and I am very transparent, mental health is something I am very passionate about. I approach my life, family and marriage through my faith and mental health. This is something that has kept me very committed,” Vilasuso said.

Last year, for his acting work on “The Young and The Restless,” Vilasuso earned an Emmy nomination for “Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series” for playing Rey Rosales.

Most recently, the show celebrated its 50th anniversary, and he noted that he attended the 50th anniversary celebration. “We had a good time, the party was great fun. It was a joyous event and I got to see a lot of old friends,” he said.

Wes Ramsey

Vilasuso had positive words about his former “Guiding Light” co-star and old friend Wes Ramsey. “Ironically enough, I got to reconnect with Wes Ramsey last year at the Emmy Awards,” Vilasuso said. “We shared a drink and we had a great time catching up. I hadn’t seen him in a while. I am so happy that he and Laura Wright are having this beautiful relationship. It is really lovely, and the two of them couldn’t be better for each other, they are awesome.”

Fans

For his dedicated soap fans, Vilasuso concluded, “The fans have always been great to me, and I try to stay connected with them via social media. I have some projects that I have been working on that will be coming out soon.”
