Tony-nominated actress Jasmine Amy Rogers of “Boop! The Musical” chatted at the red carpet of the 2025 Chita Rivera Awards, which took place at the NYU Skirball Center.

2025 Chita Rivera Awards

On being a part of the 2025 Chita Rivera Awards, Rogers said, “I was not expecting to be here at all; it’s the biggest honor. I am just excited to be here and to perform with my cast.”

She has been nominated for the Chita Rivera Award for “Outstanding Dancer in a Broadway Show.”

Rogers revealed her “aha” moment from her childhood, which inspired her to go into the performing arts.

“My family always tell me the stories about one of my first recitals, where I had to do a tap number, and all the other girls forgot it and apparently I remembered it, so that was the moment that solidified that I was going to be a performer,” she said.

Rogers on the recognition and honors she has received

Next month, Rogers is vying for her first Tony Award, where she has been nominated for “Best Performance by a Leading Actress in a Musical.”

She already won the Outer Critics Circle Award for “Outstanding Lead Performer in a Broadway Musical” for “Boop! The Musical.” She will also be recognized with a “Theatre World Award” soon for her breakout performance.

“It feels amazing. I am just full of joy, and full of happiness,” she said about all the recognition she has received thus far for her portrayal of Betty Boop.
