On November 6, veteran actors Tristan Rogers and Emma Samms, MBE, participated in a virtual fan event.

Rogers is known for his portrayal of the iconic Robert Scorpio on “General Hospital,” and Samms has played Holly Sutton (on and off) over the years. They opened up about some of their favorite storylines on the show and answered many of the fans’ questions.

This Zoom event was produced by Coastal Entertainment, where Samms and Rogers were joined by many long-time “General Hospital” fans that have enjoyed their storylines together over the last four decades.

Samms opened up about recently being featured in Maurice Benard’s MB State of Mind podcast on mental health. “I am just very impressed by anybody who speaks up about their own personal situations in order to make other people feel better about their own, and I think Maurice has done that big time,” Samms said.

“It takes a lot of courage and a lot of nerve to do that,” she said. “Maurice plays this really tough guy on the show, it is all the more powerful coming from him so I really wanted to support him in that. Mental health is an area that a lot of people are not comfortable talking about. The more mental health is talked about, the more people will be helped. Sometimes, even when you hear that other people are going through something similar to you is helpful.”

“I was hugely impressed with the fact that Maurice has been doing this for such a long time,” she said. “I really enjoyed talking to him, it was a very comfortable environment, it was a natural conversation, and he is a very good interviewer. He asked me a lot of great questions. It was lovely and an absolute delight. I was pleased that he asked me to do it,” she elaborated.

Their entire informed conversation on MB State of Mind may be seen and heard below.
