On March 18, acclaimed actress Danica McKellar chatted at the red carpet at 90s Con, which took place at the Connecticut Convention Center in Hartford.

“It feels great to be here,” she said about the ’90s fan convention. “It is so much fun. I love the ’90s, I love nostalgia, and that is what we are celebrating.”

Aside from her acting work in romantic comedies, McKellar is known for playing Winnie Cooper in the ’80s television series “The Wonder Years,” and she has voiced Miss Martian in the animated superhero series “Young Justice.” She is also an author of 11 mathematics books for children.

She is also an alumna of the American reality dancing competition, “Dancing with the Stars.”

New film with dancing

She inked a multi-movie deal for the network Great American Family. McKellar foreshadowed that her upcoming film “Swing into Romance” will involve “some dancing” so her experience from “Dancing with the Stars” will come in handy.

“It is fantastic, I am so excited to make a Great American Family movie this year with dancing,” she said.

“I am going to get some exercise while I am making these movies,” she added.

A passion for making math interesting for kids

She noted that her latest mathematics book, Double Puppy Trouble, is her 11th children’s book. “I love making math fun, and just ‘not scary’ for kids,” she underscored.

Favorite mottos to live by

McKellar shared that her favorite mottos to live by include “Live and let live,” “everything works out,” and “love God, love your neighbor.”

Success

On her definition of success, McKellar revealed, “Success means health, family, and having faith that everyday is going to work out.”
