German DJ and electronic producer Boris Brejcha chatted about his new single “Miracle.”

On his new track “Miracle,” he said, “There is no outstanding story here, as it often happens. I usually go into the studio, play around, and see where the journey takes me. It was the same with the song ‘Miracle,’ it came out of my current mood.”

“During the creation process, it quickly became clear that a beautiful voice would be a great addition to this song, so I looked for various singers in Germany and I fortunately came across Leony,” he elaborated.

“Her voice convinced me straight away and so we ended up working together,” he added.

Music and songwriting inspirations

On his music and songwriting inspirations, he said, “I don’t need that much inspiration to produce new music, my head is almost always full of ideas. It does helps immensely if you do a lot of traveling- by getting to know other people and countries.”

“You always process these experiences subconsciously and it translates while producing a new song. That often results in very surprising songs, which I like a lot,” he added.

The digital age

On being a musician in the digital age, he said, “It feels good at the moment, but you have to know your own limits. The internet is infinite and it’s easy to get lost in it. You can lose focus very quickly.”

“Overall, I think it’s great,” he admitted. “Artists have never had the opportunity to be so close to their fans and exchange ideas with them.”

“It’s also a lot easier for unknown musicians to show their music to the whole world. If you know your limits, then it’s great and very crucial to your career,” he explained.

Future plans

On his future plans, he revealed, “Our current focus is entirely on my upcoming album, which will be released on April 19th. Packed with 17 songs, the album will be called Level One and will be a milestone for me. I’m currently on vacation until the beginning of May, but I’m really looking forward to getting back into the full swing of things.”

“My label and I have a lot of our own international concerts planned again this year. We’re also putting on our first series of concerts in America this year- I’m really looking forward to that. So, a lot is going to happen this year. I’m really looking forward to it,” he said.

AI on the future of the entertainment business

He shared his thoughts on AI on the future of the entertainment industry. “I can imagine that the AI can be integrated well into music production,” he said.

Brejcha continued, “I actually tried out the ‘Synth GPT’ a few days ago. You just write which sound you would like to have and you get 100 different similar sounds suggested directly- that’s actually quite nice, but it’s not yet fully developed for me.”

“The sound quality is currently rather mediocre. Normal synthesizers are a lot better. You also can’t edit the sounds and the loading time kills the music flow a little but I’m sure that a lot will happen in the future. I am already very excited,” he added.

Dream collaboration choice in music: Hans Zimmer

Brejcha listed Hans Zimmer as his dream collaboration choice in music. Even if it might be a little difficult, a collab with Hans Zimmer would be outstanding. I love his music and have already been to his concerts twice. His film scores are beautiful and made with so much feeling,” he said.

Success

On his definition of the word success, he responded, “That is simple. Success is when you are happy with yourself, healthy, have plenty of time for yourself, and can do whatever you feel like doing. In my case, success is being able to produce music.”

Closing thoughts on his new music

For his fans, he remarked, “I hope my fans will like the new album, just like I do. There will be a song on the album called, ‘One Paradise.’ It’s my absolute favorite song from the whole album. I would recommend that to listeners.”

“It’s very emotional, dreamy, but also very danceable. Basically, the whole album is a journey through time from my musical existence,” he concluded.
