Michael shared that he has been doing great. “I am doing some home concerts now, so that is pretty cool,” he said. “I just show up with my guitar and an amplifier and I entertain. I do stand-up comedy, along with music and I get to mess with every one of your emotions.”
He enjoys playing shows in small settings due to their intimacy. “I would like to have at least 100 or more of those set up a year,” he said. “When you do those, you get up close with people, and you really get to know them.”
Throughout his career in the music scene, Michael has shared the stage with such acclaimed country stars as Tim McGraw, The Band Perry, Kellie Pickler, Craig Morgan, John Michael Montgomery, Joe Diffey and Daryl Worley, among others. His biggest crowd has been 20,000 fans at Fort Jackson in South Carolina. He has over 150 songs in his own catalog and counting, and he continues to write. “I have over 150 songs in my publishing catalog, and I have recorded about 60 or 70 songs,” he said.
He noted that he has a new album, On My Island, that came out in 2015, and he is working on his next studio album.
Songwriting is one of Michael’s favorite things, especially since he has co-penned tunes with such songwriters as Corey Barker and Sam Tate; moreover, he has collaborated with producer Kimo Forrest, who has worked with John Michael Montgomery and Alabama.
Most impressive about Michael is that he support veterans and troops from all over the world. He has been to military bases in Hawaii, The Bahamas, Curacao, and Singapore.
Michael’s dream female collaboration choices are Pink and Kimberly Perry from The Band Perry, and he complimented country songstress Ashton Shepherd. “I would love to write a song with Kimberly Perry,” he said.
