Catching up with Allison Veltz: ‘Welcome to Wonderland’ EP (Includes interview)

Her EP will be released on May 12, and it will feature four tracks, “Wonderland,” “Alabama,” “The Moon” and “Set You Free.” “It’s going to be called ‘Welcome to Wonderland,’ with ‘Wonderland’ being the title track. I really wanted to put a piece with the album out there, and I wanted to get the story going. I am going to be playing so much live this year,” she said. “I am really proud of all this music, and it really is my story. It’s good to get it out there. It’s very therapeutic.”

Veltz will be performing tonight at Stage 3 at Rockwood Music Hall in New York. “It always feels like a sense of home to come back to New York. I used to play there once a month. Rockwood has a third stage, where I never played, and I am excited to be playing there tonight. I hear that the sound is really cool. It’s good to be back,” she said. “The whole album is about being uprooted so much.”

She had nothing but praise for her record label, Blaster Records. “This record label has been so good to me, and they believed in me, and I am grateful for that,” she said.

On May 28, she will be playing shows at Down The Hatch, in North Carolina. “I am playing a couple of sets there, and it’s going to be nice to play and have music out there,” Veltz said.
