Acclaimed actress Carolyn Hennesy chatted with Digital Journal’s Markos Papadatos about her 2021 Daytime Emmy nomination for the hit digital drama series “Studio City,” which was co-created by Sean Kanan and Jason Antognoli, and directed by Timothy Woodward Jr.
She is up for “Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Daytime Fiction Program” for playing Gloria.
On scoring an Emmy nomination for “Studio City,” she remarked, “It’s one of my favorite projects that I have ever done in my life, so the nomination was like icing on a very delicious cake.”
Last month, she also earned a Daytime Emmy nomination for her acting work in “General Hospital.” “To be recognized by your peers like that, on a show like that, is really nice and even the nomination is just extraordinary. It was such a blessing and a tremendous validation,” she said.
Hennesy was thrilled that “Studio City” won the Daytime Emmy Award for “Outstanding Limited Series.” “To be honest with you, it was no surprise to me,” she said. “I think ‘Studio City’ is one of the best shows for public consumption anywhere.”
On the title of the current chapter of her life, she responded, “Back to business as usual.”
For her dedicated fans and supporters, Hennesy said, “Without them, I am nothing. Without the fans, I act in a vacuum and nobody wants to do that. God bless all of the fans and please keep watching.”
“Studio City” is available for streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
