Carol Burnett will earn 2016 Lifetime Achievement Award by SAG

It will be presented during the 22nd Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards ceremony and it will be televised on TNT and TBS on Jan. 30. This will be in honor of her career achievement, as well as her humanitarian accomplishments.

Throughout her illustrious career in television, Burnett has been the recipient of multiple Emmy awards, a special Tony award, the Presidential Medal of Freedom and she was a Kennedy Center Honoree.

Her notable show, The Carol Burnett Show, was hailed by Time Magazine as one of the “100 Best Television Shows of All Time.” It ran for 11 years and it averaged 30 million viewers each week, and it subsequently earned 25 Emmy awards, thus making it one of the most decorated shows in television history.

Burnett’s film credits include playing Miss Hannigan in Annie, Noises Off, A Wedding and Four Seasons.

This past April, Burnett performed at the Kupferberg Center for the Performing Arts at Queen College in New York, which Digital Journal described as “dazzling.”

In the book publishing arena, Burnett is writing her fourth book entitled In the Sandbox, which is a love letter to the golden era of television, while simultaneously dissecting the elements of what made The Carol Burnett Show the iconic success that it was. The book is set for release in November of 2016.
