Camille A. Brown chatted about choreographing the Broadway musical “Gypsy,” and her latest Tony nomination.

She was up for the Tony Award for “Best Choreography” for “Gypsy.” “It felt great,” Brown admitted.

Working with the cast of ‘Gypsy’

Brown enjoyed working with the cast of “Gypsy,” which stars six-time Tony winner Audra McDonald, Danny Burstein, Joy Woods, and Jordan Tyson. “Working with the cast of ‘Gypsy’ was fantastic,” Brown exclaimed.

“They are all beautiful, brilliant artists. Just being in the room with them was tremendous,” she added.

For her choreography for “Gypsy,” she also received a Drama Desk nomination, and her dancer Kevin Csolak won the 2025 Chita Rivera Award for “Outstanding Dancer in a Broadway Show.”

“I was so thrilled for him. Kevin was so deserving,” she admitted. “I loved working with Kevin; he has an excellent work ethic.”

‘I AM’ show

Brown shared that her “I AM” show at The Joyce in New York was “great” and it was “sold out.”

Future plans

Regarding her plans for the future, Brown revealed, “I am focusing more on my directing.”
