His audition for the show, his unique version of Robyn’s “Dancing On My Own,” garnered a standing ovation from all four judges, including Simon Cowell, and it went viral online. As a result, his social media fan-base has grown exponentially. “That was like a dream. I never thought I would get anywhere near the level of attention and the respect that I have received from people. I am so humbled about it, and it keeps me down-to-earth and grounded. I am very happy,” Scott said. “I try to put my own spin on all of the songs that I cover. I have been told I have a unique voice so I try and use that to my advantage and I try to reach out to people. ‘Dancing On My Own’ has completely changed my life.”
Scott is building on his journey on Britain’s Got Talent to take the next steps in his career as a singer-songwriter, in an effort to make more music and to tour the world.
Regarding his goals for the future, he said, “I have big plans. I have some original tracks on the way, and I have some covers to come. I am filming a new cover video tomorrow. I am keeping busy and keeping positive and moving forward. Hopefully, a record label will approach me at some point in the future. I am willing to work hard, and I am willing to work all hours.”
He listed Sia and Ella Henderson as his dream female duet choices, and praised them for their “amazing voices.”
Each day, the Britain’s Got Talent alum is motivated by his family members and his fans, the latter of which he dubbed as a “major support” for him. “Without the fans, I would be doing what I am doing,” he said.
Scott had nothing but the kindest remarks about runner-up winner Jamie Raven from Britain’s Got Talent. “Jamie is such a nice guy. After the final and my performance, I was really down and upset, and when I walked into the dressing room, we were sharing a dressing room, and Jamie wrote me a really nice note saying how talented I was and what a nice guy I was. He has kept in touch with me and we have kept in touch via text. He deserves everything that is coming for him, and I couldn’t be happier for him.”
For aspiring musicians, he recommended they take any opportunity that presents itself to them. “My sister and I literally decided to audition for Britain’s Got Talent and see what happens. I did it and it has been life-changing for me. Every time I sang it was from the heart,” he said.
