Brie Larson wins ‘Best Actress’ SAG award for ‘Room’

The motion picture itself garnered a rave review from Digital Journal, which praised her performance as “Oscar-worthy.” Larson previously won the “Best Actress in a Drama” Golden Globe for this role.

In her SAG acceptance speech, Larson remarked, “This is so incredible. I feel I was born questioning everything about reality, feeling lost and alone, and always worried that I was deeply unlovable.”

She went on to thank her fellow colleagues of the Screen Actors Guild and how watching their movies helped her feel less alone and safer to explore her creativity.

Larson expressed her gratitude to the talented cast of the film, as well as the screenwriter, Emma Donoghue, for writing an “incredible story.”

Similar to Leonardo DiCaprio who took home the “Best Actor in a Leading Role” SAG award for The Revenant, this makes both actors (DiCaprio and Larson) unstoppable for the future Oscar wins for “Best Actor” and “Best Actress” respectively, and both of these honors would be based on merit.
