Brenda Lee to announce 2016 Country Music Hall of Fame inductees

This will be the 56th year for the Country Music Hall of Fame ceremony, which is hailed as the greatest honor in country music. The Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum was created in 1961 by the Country Music Association.

The three inductees will be revealed on Tuesday, March 29, via a press conference that is hosted by the Country Music Association (CMA). This press conference is open exclusively to the media, but the Country Music Association is providing a live stream for viewers.

Brenda Lee will introduce this year’s inductees in three categories, which include the “Veterans Era Artist,” the “Modern Era Artist,” as well as the “Non-performer,” the latter of which is awarded every third year in rotation with the recording or touring magician that was active prior to 1980 and songwriter categories.

Lee
is an inductee of the Country Music Hall of Fame, as well as the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and the Rockabilly Hall of Fame. She is best known for her signature holiday song, “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree.”
