Brenda Lee’s ‘Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree’ returns to radio

New York’s hit music station, 106.7 Lite FM, already started playing Christmas music a few days ago, and “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree” is played on regular rotation.

Most impressive about the Brenda Lee holiday classic “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree” is that it is entering its 59th year since it was initially released, in 1958. Lee recorded the song when she was only 13 years old.

On the song’s 50th year anniversary as a holiday standard, in 2008, The Recording Academy honored Lee with a “Lifetime Achievement Grammy award.”

Lee is a member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, the Rockabilly Hall of Fame and the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum.
