This marks the sixth No. 1 single of his career on country radio. “One Hell of An Amen” was released via his record label, The Valory Music Company, and it showcases his vulnerability and raw emotions. It garnered rave reviews from critics, including Digital Journal.
It is a track on Gilbert’s latest studio album, Just As I Am, He co-wrote the song with songwriters Mike Dekle and Brian Davis, while paying homage to a close friend and a fallen soldier, both of which fought “the good fight.”
He noted in a press release that having this single go No. 1 was extremely special for Gilbert. “It’s an honor and a privilege to give ‘One Hell of An Amen’ to two two great men who faced their battles and said ‘Bring it on’,” Gilbert said in the press statement. “With a song as personal as this one, I hope it can offer some comfort to anyone struggling to find hope and bravery,” he added.
Gilbert is out on the road touring with country mega-star Kenny Chesney as part of “The Big Revival” tour.
