Bill Nye could reboot ‘Bill Nye the Science Guy’

Bill Nye, defender of the theory of evolution and all-around science educator is still best known for his kid-oriented science series Bill Nye the Science Guy which ran from 1993-1998. In a recent interview with Engadget, Nye said that he owns the rights to the series and that he could consider bringing it back.

Though Nye isn’t sure the timing is right, in an age where science channels on YouTube are abound, and the idea of science programming is seeing a renaissance with shows like Cosmos: A Spacetime Oddyssey.

Though perhaps Nye is being a little modest — his debate with Ken Ham had at least 750,000 computers watching. Nye first teased the return of his popular kids show in an “Ask me Anything” session on Reddit.

Other kids franchises that have been picked up recently include the Magic School Bus and Teletubbies.
